Southern Colorado’s News Leader to provide live, local newscasts at 4 and 9
pm
Currently available on Comcast channel 9 in Colorado Springs, Comcast digital
channel 247 in Pueblo, and streaming live online at koaa.com, News First Now
provides local news and weather 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Starting
Monday, July 16, News First Now will add live, local newscasts at 4pm, Monday
through Friday, and at 9pm, seven days per week.
These newscasts will be produced and provided by News First 5/30, Southern
Colorado’s News Leader. Meteorologist Mike Madson, who has more than two decades
of local forecasting experience, will provide weather coverage in the 4 and 9pm
newscasts. Laura Rojas will join News First as the 4 and 9pm anchor. Most
recently with the CBS and Telemundo affiliates in Amarillo, Texas, Laura has
reported and anchored in both San Antonio and Amarillo in English and Spanish
language newscasts.
“Mike Madson has done excellent work with News First over the past year and
we’re really pleased to have him five days a week at 4pm and 9pm,” says Cindy
Aubrey, News Director. “Laura Rojas will be a wonderful addition to the team, to
these newscasts, and to the Southern Colorado community.”

coverage at times that may be more convenient for our viewers.”
