Feliz Navidad
I wanted to be inspiring in my Christmas message. It has become very
difficult. Each time I watch a newscast, I see soldiers leaving home to serve in
a foreign country, I remember those holidays I missed, whether in Vietnam, or
Panama, wherever, it is not the same, being away from home during this period. I
do not care what anyone says, one never gets used to it.
I grew up with the Hijar family of Pueblo; their granddaughter’s death was
brought to light this week with the sentencing of the perpetrator. For some of
us, the sentence was too light. Just weeks ago we buried my brother –in-law’s
mother. A person I had known for over 40 years. I guess no matter how negative
we accept things; there is that message; We are only here for a short while. It
is at this moment that we must remember the true Meaning of Christmas, what it
means to most of us, and what the outlook is for those that believe.
May you and your loved ones, have a very, very Feliz Navidad.
