Comedian Alex Reymundo to Co-Host the 11th Annual Urban Wheel AwardsBy Jessica Pipkins Four dollars, four siblings and a language barrier were the humble beginnings of comedian actor Alex Reymundo who will co-host the 11th Annual Urban Wheel Awards alongside Vivica A. Fox. Born in Acapulco, Reymundo moved with his family to Dallas, Texas when he was two years old. At a young age Reymundo discovered that he wanted to be a performer. His main motivation was to win favor with the ladies. He saw early on that men who were performers were the true Casanova’s. He and his siblings would often re-enact comedy sketches from The Carol Burnett Show and Gilligan’s Island. Known for his bright smile and radiant personality, Reymundo found a love for stand up comedy. In his first year of stand-up he was a finalist in Univision’s International Star Search. Shortly thereafter, he toured with comedians Paul Rodriguez, George Lopez, and Cheech Marin-the group eventually evolved into The Original Latin Kings of Comedy. The Original Latin Kings of Comedy aired on Showtime and has been one of the most successful comedy specials on the network. Reymundo has also appeared in Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy, as well as on HBO and Comedy Central. Reymundo’s unique personality is certain to electrify the audience at the 11th Annual Urban Wheel Awards. More than 40 national automotive, minority and general media have signed on as media partners to the Urban Wheel Awards including hundreds of media attendees who cover both the event and auto show. An independent panel of journalists from major diversity and automotive media selects UWA finalists. The panel selects the Company Supplier, and Executives of the year. An independent panel of sports and racing journalists selects the Diversity in Motorsports winner. The Diversity Automotive Advertising Awards are presented based on the voting of consumers visiting over 15 major web sites, while a distinguished panel of automotive journalists chooses the Urban Car and Truck of the year. “Our alliance with the Detroit Auto Show has helped the auto show by broadening its coverage by multicultural media,” says Randi Payton, president of On Wheels Incorporated. “The event is designed to expose top level executives in the industry to the multicultural community and media, which now represents one-third of their customers, as well as the population of the United States.”
