Regional Mining History revealed at Arts Center display

The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center offers the community a piece of regional history in its new spring exhibit, The Machine Age. As part of the exhibit, the King Gallery offers a glimpse into the strikes through “Strike History of Southern Colorado.” Photos and records are on display on the second floor Tue - Sat from 11 am until 4 pm. “Strike History of Southern Colorado” details the horrors of the Ludlow Massacre, an assault on the strike of 1914. This informative display was organized by the Pueblo City-County Library District.

In addition to viewing the display, the public is invited to attend a free ArtsTalk with guest speaker Dr. Edmond Vallejo. Vallejo will present “Reflections of the Colorado Coal Strike” on Tue, Feb 21 at 9:45 am. For more information, please call 719-295-7200 or stop by the Arts Center at 210 N. Santa Fe Ave.
